Alumni Awards and Honors
Felicia Trachtenberg, Research Scientist at the New England Research Institutes, Boston, was the second author on an exciting research article published in JAMA (2006) on sudden infant death syndrome. The study found that Medullary 5-HT pathology in SIDS is more extensive than previously delineated, and provides some evidence that may help explain the increased vulnerability of boys to SIDS. Mary Ellen Bock, Professor of Statistics, Purdue University, was elected as President (2007) of the American Statistical Association. Hua-Hua Chang, Associate Professor of Psychology, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, received the 2008 Annual Tech Award of National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME) for his research with Professor Z. Ying on computerized testing. Ying Wei, Assistant Professor of Biostatistics, Columbia University, received a Career Development Award from the NIEHS Center for Environmental Health in Northern Manhattan for her statistical research on quantile regression with applications to health sciences. Brian Junker, Professor of Statistics, Carnegie Mellon University, was elected as President (August 08 - July 09) of the Psychometric Society. | ||
