Statistical Computing Project

There are two criteria for your project:

1. Your project objective should involve one or more of the following:
   • Probabilistic or statistical model
   • Programming objective
   • Numerical algorithm

2. Your project should also involve generation of random data for the purpose of one or more of the following:
   • Investigating distributional results
   • Accuracy or coverage probabilities
   • Variability
   • Simulation

• Written report, including appropriate source code and plots.
  Project due date: (Final Exam is scheduled Friday May 7, 8-11 and I will be in my office to take your projects, if you would like to give them to me in person.).
  All projects are due by 5PM on Monday, May 10

The following are guidelines for the Written Report:

The report will not be returned.

The report should contain the following:

1. Title and author information.
2. Abstract. The abstract should summarize results, topics discussed, and main conclusions. It should be no longer than 100 words. It should not be a numbered section.

The following sections should appear in order:

1. Introduction. This section should provide a background for the problem. It should contain the Description and Objective of the Problem.
2. Methods. The section should provide the Method of Solving the Problem, including a description of the 2 criteria.
3. Results. This section should include a conclusion with summary plots and appropriate source code . Please, tell me what you learned! You may put your source code in an Appendix.
4. References. Please list references and data sources (web addresses are acceptable).

How long a report? (3-10 pages, not including source code and plots should be fine).
