This graduate level course covers the essentials for statistical analysis of categorical data. The focus will be on models (from simple Binomial models to generalized linear models for categorical or ordinal variables), methods, and applications.

Brief introductions to sampling will be given as a second topic, but the students should not expect the course to be a complete introduction to sampling.

Final words (May 10, 2009):

The semester is over. Thank you for your hard work. I hope that you enjoyed all the discussion this semester.

If you would like to read more about sampling, you may go to "Sampling techniques (3rd edition)" by William G. Cochran, published by Wiley in 1977.

If you encounter statistical questions related to your work, you may find it helpful to consult ISO .

Have a great summer!
